Improving technique of celery raising seedlings/Tainan DARES

The celery seeds are sterilized by soaked in Benlate 1000 X for one day, then washed with flowing water, after these are dried and then sowed in 288 plug which is placed in incubator with lighting, the seed treatments may meet the requirements of seed germinate characteristics on 15-20℃ and light germination. The germinate seeds are transferred into greenhouse for raising seedling 45 days, then the seedlings are transplanted to field, after 50 days the celery plants are harvested. The raising seedling methods do not require thining seedling which seed are directly sowed in field, and will be grown in field for 100 days. So using the raising method may increase celery cropping per year, and these seedlings may be transplanted to field by transplanter which may decrease labor requirement. Due to the seedling are raise in greenhouse, the uniform seedling will benefit for field management.
