This variety exhibits stable grain yield, with average increases of 16.8% and 7.1% over Taikeng No. 9 in the first and second crop seasons, respectively, and stability coefficients of 0.97 and 0.87, indicating stable or less sensitive responses to the environment. The grain appearance is good, with slightly lower transparency than Taikeng No. 9, while chalkiness was low (0.4% in the first crop season and 0.0% in the second). It shows tolerance to high temperature in terms of grain setting and appearance. The panicle germination rate was low (grade 1 in the first crop season versus grade 5 for Taikeng No. 9), reducing the risk of germination during the rainy season. The variety demonstrated good storability, with no significant changes in eating quality, appearance, or hardness after six months of storage at room or low temperature; eating quality was better than Taikeng No. 9 at room temperature and comparable after cold storage. It showed moderate to good resistance to leaf blast, panicle blast, bacterial blight, and brown planthopper. Seedling cold tolerance was good in the first crop season, while at the maturity stage of the second crop season it was slightly lower than Taikeng No. 9, suggesting that late planting in the second crop season is not recommended.
