New Sweet Corn Variety "Tainan No.26"/Tainan DARES
"Tainan No.26" is a new and potential breed of sweet corn. The advantages of "Tainan No.26" are including: (1) heat-resistance (2) disease-resistance, (3) lodging-resistance (4) high yield (5) long-storage and low sugar-reducing rate.
The yield is about 23,000 kg/ha (shell containing). The abilities of resistance to pest, leaf spot and corn rust are helpful to farm management and organic farming. In addition, its corn grits is fit for ready-to-eat products or frozen foods because of the characteristic of high sugar content(about 14～16°Brix).
