Optimization technology for mass production of the predatory natural enemy, Eocanthecona furcellata./Miaoli DARES

The predatory natural enemy insect, Eocanthecona furcellata, primarily preys on lepidopteran larvae such as Pieris rapae, Spodoptera litura, and Spodoptera frugiperda. Both nymphs and adults are effective predators of these pests, with their predatory stages lasting approximately two months. Recent advancements in mass-rearing optimization, including the replacement of alternative feeds and reductions in labor, have improved the efficiency of the rearing process. Additionally, these innovations have enhanced the integrity of stink bug eggs, further improving the overall quality of mass production.
